My product uses and challenges conventions by presenting unique styles and fashion statements. Additionally, it features a young girl on the cover who is not necessarily a model, which is uncommon for most fashion magazines. My product targets audiences of people who are primarily interested in fashion and are encouraged to express themselves.
My product represents social groups and issues by presenting the ideals that fashion is what you make of it. It encourages the ideals that there are no rules to fashion and that it is for everyone. My product engages with audiences by targeting a very specific group of individuals. My magazine's target audience is those interested in fashion. The cover of my magazine features a fashion icon, and the title is centered around the same theme. Additionally, all of the articles mentioned are fashion related. My product is distributed as real media text virtually. Publications of my magazine can be found digitally or as hard copies. I would also use social media as a means to promote my product. My production skills developed significantly throughout this project. When starting to create my magazine, I did not know much about the media and all of the different aspects that make it up. Throughout this process, I've learned a lot about the history of the media and its global and societal impacts. I feel that this knowledge has definitely impacted my production skills for the better. I integrated technology in a variety of ways for this project. Firstly, I used the online site 'Weebly' to post media and other digital materials for my Magazine. Additionally, I used multiple forms of editing software to actually create my magazine cover. Overall, the majority of my project was reliant on technology and it was integrated immensely in my work. There are numerous issues raised in the targeting of national and local audiences by international or global institutions. One deals with independent institutions which ultimately creates a strong impact. Due to low budgeting, synergy can not be made, subjecting the film to lose potential audiences. This concerns audiences due to the fact that it only targets a limited audience because of the lack of advertisement. Additionally, conglomerate institutions play a major role in dealing with the targeted audiences as well. This is due to the fact that they are vertically and horizontally integrated.
According to the text, “After Media theorists began to realize that audiences were real people and therefore needed to be treated like human beings rather than statistics or abstract models, the ethnographic approach was developed.” In other words, scientists wanted to try putting themselves among a group of individuals in order to observe their behavior as a direct observation. The purpose of the ethnographic study is so that the researcher will be physically with the individual whom they are studying.

This section of the article deals with the “little doubt that media texts affect audiences; what the effect is, and how it happens, is open to considerable doubt.” A common argument is that people tend to involve their emotions or say that it’s due to the social science aspect of the concept. The author talks about various theories on this.
